Review of Voopoo Drag 2 and Voopoo Drag Mini
Price : $71.99 $109.90
The package of Voopoo Drag 2 Kit and Voopoo Drag Mini Kit look almost the same, only the packing lists printed on the two boxes are different.
Apart from the basic contents including box mod, atomizer, USB cable and warranty card, there are also some spare parts including coils, O-rings and glass tube inside of the package.
By comparing the data above, Drag Mini has a built-in battery with the lowest max output of 117W. Its weight is the lightest and its size is the smallest. Drag 2, just like the first-generation Drag, is powered by 2 18650 batteries. Its max output is 177w, the highest among the three devices. Both the weight and size are optimized to a better condition, but it looks almost the same as Drag.
The panel of both the two devices are made of zinc alloy and colorful resin, which slightly lower the weight. Compared with the perpendicular angles of the first-generation Drag, the corners and angles of Drag 2 and Drag mini are processed to be rounded for holding. The colorful resin painting looks much like staypak, and the surface feels like rubber painting, increasing the friction for holding and reducing the coldness feel of metal.
The back cover succeeds the tradition of Drag with a big Logo on it. On Drag 2, the back cover can be disassembled. The magnet on it is much bigger and sticks more steadfastly onto the mod. The Drag Mini adopts built-in battery, so its back cover can not be disassembled.
The layout of the buttons are almost the same as the first-generation Drag. The self-adaptive 510 connector on the top is centered, and the metal spacer is slightly convex to prevent the mod from being scratched by the atomizer. Even if you install a 25mm atomizer on it, it has no overhang. The venting holes at the bottom don’t direct to the battery compartment, so, they are just for dissipating the heat of the chip. On the left bottom of Drag Mini, there is an extra “reset” hole, which is for resetting the device manually.
The atomizer on the mod is one of the highlights of the two new Drag mods. Structurally, the Uforce T2 Tank can be disassembled into five parts, including drip tip, top cap, glass tube and base. No matter filling e-liquid or changing coil, it’s super simple for both vaping newbies or experienced vapers.
Voopoo released a series of coils for Uforce T2 Tank including U2, U4, U6, U8, N1, N2, N3, R1, D4, P2. Based on mesh structure, every type of the coils has a different resistance and vaporization method thus to provide you with different taste experience. Take the N1, N3, U2, P2 for example, P2 coil, with comparatively small inflow hole, is a taste-oriented coil. Other three coils show difference in the thickness of cotton and internal coil structure, but all of the three can satisfy the demanding requirements of all vapers for data and vapor volume.
The operation of the two devices are nearly the same as that of the first-generation Drag.
But it’s worth mentioning that the new “Gene” chip has a new FIT option with three settings: battery set, flavor set, cloud set. It is officially recommended that the FIT mode work with Uforce series tanks, not including RDA, RTA and RDTA.
After using them for a week, I found the firing speed of Drag is very excellent. Just by using the self-recommended wattage, you can have an instant vaping experience. Moreover, the weakening of batteries doesn’t have much influence on the firing speed. But, the two new products don’t show much changeon the appearance and painting.
The FIT function can only be used with Uforce Tanks. But it has both advantages and disadvantages. The advantages are that it lowers the difficulty for operation and improves the output stability. The disadvantage is that it is useless for DIY vapers. Luckily, the multiple coils widen the ways for vapers to use finished atomizers. To lazy and "not-so-smart" users, to change several coils is still much simpler than DIY.
If you are looking for a light-weighted, small-sized and taste-oriented device, the Drag Mini is recommended. Its 117w max output and 4400mah built-in battery can completely satisfy your daily needs. If you are a loyal fan to Drag and obsessed with huge vapor and constant using, Drag 2 is recommended. It’s because the batteries are replaceable and the 177w max output can fully satisfy your addiction to e-cigarette.
